DISHWASHER/BUSSER/PREP
POSITION TYPE:
Full-Time Permanent. 32 to 40 hours per week. Typical shift time is 8AM - 4PM, Thursday to Sunday. Mon-Tues always off, occasional Wednesday shifts.
DESCRIPTION:
Dishwashing: Washing dishes used by front and back of house, drying and putting away dishes, and keeping the dish pit area organized and clean. Dishes are washed by hand using a triple pot sink.
Prep: Primarily wrapping sandwiches - working with chefs to finish and wrap daily sandwiches throughout the morning. Other prep tasks may include things like making sauces/spreads, frying onions, scooping cookie dough and processing fresh fruits & vegetables.
Bussing: Cleaning cafe and FOH area as needed - sweeping, spot window cleaning, emptying garbages, refilling drip coffee pots, stocking lid/napkin/cup station
Cleaning: Cleaning tasks are shared between all staff, and include sweeping front and back of house as needed, cleaning equipment (mixers, tables), deep cleaning when time permits/as needed, organizing walk-in and other fridges/freezers, mopping at end of day.
WHO YOU ARE:
We are looking for someone who ideally has interest in learning more about the food industry and some prior knowledge of kitchen protocols, though no specific experience in this industry is necessary. We are happy to train the right person and our priorities are: kindness, ability to work well in a team environment, attention to detail, trustworthiness, and common sense. There is room for growth within this role in the areas of bread baking, pastry, and sandwiches; please note we are looking for this role filled within the description above for a minimum of 1 year, at which point a role change/promotion will be happily considered.
This role starts at $21/hr + tips (shared tip pool among all staff) - fully covered medical & dental benefits available after 6 months’ FT employment. Staff meals & drinks provided. Bread & treats always available.
